Two articles low on geek content, but including better than half-decent media commentary:
- Five OS X security threats that fizzled: Chris Foresman for Ars Technica
- Latest Mac Malware Attack Is a Wake-Up Call for OS X Users: Christina Bonnington
And while the ever-quotable Paul Ducklin is a bona fide researcher/security professional rather than the media (except in so far as we are all the media these days), his Flaming Retort article All this new Mac malware – whose fault is it? makes an essential point:
Security is the responsibility of all of us: technologists, coders, mobile phone users, writers, video watchers, bloggers, Wikipedia readers, bank clerks, bicycle couriers, politicians, policemen and gardeners.
It’s not your fault. It’s your responsibility.
Hm. That’s a theme I should come back to at some point.
